Newcastle fans analyse Toon's crushing QPR win
Newcastle United beat Queens Park Rangers 6-0 at Loftus Road on Tuesday evening.
Rafa Benitez’s team won thanks to goals from Jonjo Shelvey (2), Ayoze Perez, Aleksandar Mitrovic and defenders Grant Hanley and Ciaran Clark.
United have now won six games in a row – in which they haven’t conceded a goal since playing against Reading on the 17th of August.
The Tyneside outfit take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday and will head into the fixture high on confidence.
Benitez will have to make some interesting decisions regarding the selection, especially as Newcastle face Wolves again on Tuesday in the EFL Cup.
The new signings all seem to be bedding into the side well – especially Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle, who has scored four goals this season.
Ritchie brings the type of skill in a dead ball situation that United haven’t had for some time now, and that’s what Toon fans are getting excited about.
“We’ve got some great dead ball specialists in the team, at long bloody last. Haven’t had a crosser of the ball as good as Ritchie since Nobby (Solano) I reckon,” said bananagrabber83 on Reddit.

While scoring goals is more excited than keeping clean sheets, having a solid defense is arguably more important.
The Magpies have rarely been solid at the back, but it looks like Benitez has drilled an unexpected strong spine into the side.
“5 clean sheets is incredible. The defence is getting better game on game. You can see the effect it has had on (Matz) Sels as well,” commented BertrandSnos.
ThatBoyConk agreed with the previous Toon fan, and added: “If we can get to 7 games with a clean sheet (because that would be the last 4 games with a lot of defensive rotation) that would be key.”
