Moyes targets loan additions
Everton boss David Moyes wants a new striker in January - but he has absolutely no money available so will have to delve into the loan market.
The Toffees have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks but Moyes has revealed he will be given no money to spend.
Instead, he will attempt to strengthen his squad with some loan signings.
"We don't have any cash to lay down plans," said the Scot.
"I'd like to bring players in on loan. I'd like a centre-forward if possible.
"But anybody who sees any speculation linking me with anybody who is going to cost money might as well throw that aside.
"It can't be true, we don't have any cash.
"We are out there trying to bring in some loans if we possibly can and that is the situation."
Before Moyes can turn his attention to the transfer window, his Everton side face a trip to West Ham on Tuesday.
Having seen their meeting with Birmingham on Boxing Day fall foul of the cold snap, it is hoped that a number of those carrying niggling knocks will come back into contention at Upton Park.
Moyes added: "It gives one or two players a little more time and we are now hoping to build on the result at Manchester City [a 2-1 win last time out] at West Ham."
