MLS Adds Christian Pulisic to Allocation Ranking List
MLS has added up and coming American star Christian Pulisic to the league’s Allocation Ranking List
It’s a dream come true for young American midfielder Christian Pulisic. He notched a goal and an assist during Borussia Dortmund’s 6-0 win over Darmstadt. And also made his Champions League debut for the Bundesliga club. On Monday, Major League Soccer (MLS) announced that they have added the 18 year old to its Allocation Ranking List.
The Allocation Ranking List is a group of experts and includes important core members of the US National Team. This group selects elite US youth national team members, and players who received a transfer fee of over $500,000.
Pulisic was added to the list as one of the elite youth national team members. The Allocation Ranking List also include star players such as Geoff Cameron, DeAndre Yedlin, Obafemi Martins, and Julian Green.

Each club will have their chance to acquire players off of the Allocation Ranking List, based on their position on the Allocation Ranking Order list. How the Allocation Ranking Order is determined, is the reverse order of finish in the previous season. This is also with playoff performances taken into consideration.
Pulisic Stars for USMNT
As one of the best young talents in US Soccer history, Pulisic broke into Dortmund’s first team last season at the age of 17. He made a similar impact with the USMNT this year.
He is first featured on the Copa America Centenario squad this past summer. Most recently, he is youngest to start and score for the USMNT this month.
In the most recent weeks, the midfielder had been pursued by multiple clubs. Red Bull Leipzig, and Liverpool FC to give an idea. Pulisic is under contract with Dortmund until 2019. Neither player, or club are under talks for an extension.
Dortmund sporting director Muchael Zorc said, as quoted by ESPN FC, “That’s not an issue right now. He has only just turned 18. He can be delighted to have made his debut in the Champions League aged 17 and to have set up a goal there as well as having scored and set up goals in the Bundesliga.”
Dortumund’s next match is against SC Freiburg.
