Milner targets Young tribute

Young wrote his name into City folklore by scoring the goal which won the 1969 final against Leicester at Wembley. And City's 4,000 travelling fans wore red and black scarves - the same colour as the strip worn in that final - as a salute to Young during yesterday's 2-2 third round draw at Leicester. Now Milner, who scored City's opening goal, wants to lift the trophy for Young. He said: "The fans' tribute was very good and the fans were out in force supporting us again. It's nice to get that level of support every week. It would be nice to win the FA Cup for Neil. "We are desperate to win a trophy. It's been a long time and we are geared up to win things. It's been a long time and we want to win a trophy, so we will keep working hard and taking it a step at a time. "Winning the cup would be the ultimate way to make a tribute to Neil. We have to finish the job with Leicester first, but hopefully we can keep going." Milner had mixed feelings about breaking his scoring duck for the club following his £24million move from Aston Villa in August. His only other goal this season was for Villa against West Ham on the opening day. Milner said: "The goal was nice to get us back in the game, and it was good to get on the scoresheet. "It was a disappointment that it wasn't in a winning performance, but it's another game unbeaten and hopefully we can finish the job at our place." City boss Roberto Mancini confirmed £27million striker Edin Dzeko will make his debut at Wolves next weekend, but he is unlikely to bring in any more new faces during the remainder of the January transfer window. Mancini said: "Dzeko will be an important player for us. He is different from the other strikers we have. He is one more choice for me. "He will be very important for the rest of the season, important in the next match. He will be available for Wolves in the next game. "Dzeko was on our radar from last summer because we wanted to buy him. We buy him now. Will there be any more signings (in January)? I don't think so." Meanwhile, Leicester midfielder Richie Wellens believes new signing Sol Bamba can make a big impact in the npower Championship if he maintains the form shown against Mancini's side. The Ivory Coast international scored once and was a constant threat at set pieces and Wellens said: "He did well. I think he won every header in both boxes. Physically he is a monster. "If he can carry on winning those headers I am sure he will be a good asset to the club." Wellens is refusing to write off the Foxes hopes of winning the replay at Eastlands. He said: "Blackpool only got beat 1-0 at City and we finished above Blackpool last year in the Championship. We don't see ourselves far off them and they could have easily sneaked a draw at City. "In the FA Cup, accidents are just waiting to happen. We knew this weekend there would be five or six shocks and hopefully this might be one of them in the replay."
