Milan suffer double injury blow

AC Milan have suffered a double blow with news that defender Thiago Silva and midfielder Mathieu Flamini will be sidelined until January.

Both players sustained right knee injuries during Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Ajax in the Champions League.

Tests done on Thursday confirmed Flamini will be sidelined for up to four weeks after suffering ligament damage.

Silva, meanwhile, will travel to Brazil next week to undergo further tests after hurting his meniscus.

Milan, who progressed to the knockout round of the Champions League as runners-up in Group G, travel to Bologna this weekend and end the year at home to Roma on December 18.
