Midfielder Deco out of Portugal-Brazil match

Deco will miss Portugal's much-anticipated final World Cup group match against Brazil because he has not recovered from a right hip injury.

Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz says the midfielder will remain on the bench to keep him for the team's anticipated round-of-16 match.

Portugal needs a draw against Brazil in Durban to guarantee progress out of Group G.

Brazil is already sure to reach the second round after winning its first two matches in South Africa

Queiroz said Thursday Deco is "injured still."

He added that Benfica midfielder Ruben Amorim also is injured and unavailable for the match at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
