Mexican League Wrap, Mar. 12

Tigres Monterrey missed the chance to go top of Mexico's Clausura as it was held to a 1-1 draw by visiting San Luis.

Hector Mancilla's penalty just before half-time gave the home side the lead - but Wilmer Aguirre levelled just before the hour.

The result leaves Tigres two points behind table-topping Unam Pumas having played a game more, while San Luis are six points off the pace in seventh.

Guadalajara held out for a 1-1 draw at mid-table rivals Atlas, despite playing more than an hour with only nine men.

Erick Torres gave Guadalajara an 11th minute lead - but he was dismissed two minutes later and things looked bleak for the visitors when Xavier Baez followed him down the tunnel in the 27th.

Atlas got back on level terms in the 66th minute through Flavio Santos - but they were unable to turn the numerical advantage into a victory against the league's draw specialists, who have now picked up a point from six of their 10 matches.

Atlante moved into mid-table with a 4-0 win over second from bottom Pachuca, with all the goals coming in the opening period.

Jose Fonseca, Fernando Navarro and Christian Bermudez netted within the space of seven minutes midway through the first half, with Fonseca getting his second four minutes before the break.

Queretaro improved their placing with a 2-1 home win over Puebla. Eder Borelli (27) and Isaac Acuna (37) gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Jose Joel Gonzalez pulled a goal back seven minutes into the second half.

A goal in each half from Juan Garcia and Israel Lopez gave Tecos a 2-0 victory at bottom club Jaguares.
