Mesut Ozil urges Mats Hummels, Benedikt Howedes to join PL

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has urged his international teammates Mats Hummels and Benedikt Howedes to move to the Premier League.

Hummels has reportedly been a long-term target for Manchester United, while Schalke defender Howedes has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

United are chasing a center-back this summer and Borussia Dortmund defender Hummels has been linked with a move to Old Trafford well before the arrival of Louis van Gaal. However, the 26-year-old is believed to be on Van Gaal's lengthy list of possible targets and Ozil cannot see any reason why he couldn't succeed at United.

Ozil made the switch to Arsenal from Real Madrid two years ago and appears to be loving life in England, so much so he has now recommended a similar move to his German compatriots.

"I would recommend any player coming to the Premier League. It is the best league in the world and here there are not only two teams fighting for the title", Ozil told Bild am Sonntag.

"There may be three or four teams in the battle.

"At the same time it is a league in which every team can beat every other team - and it's exciting.

"Mats Hummels and Benedikt Howedes could succeed at really big clubs over here. I'm sure, if they want to change.

"However, it is up to each player to decide this."
