Messi plays in charity match in Brazil

Argentine forward Lionel Messi has led a mixed team of international and domestic players to a 3-3 draw in a charity match in southeastern Brazil.

The 2009 FIFA world player of the year's team included Brazilian-born Deco of Portugal's national team and former football star Careca.

They played Sunday in the city of Indaiatuba against a ''Rest of the World'' team that included Rincon of Colombia and Amoroso of Brazil.

Messi stopped playing in the 10th minute of the second half after he scored a goal that was ruled out for offside.

Proceeds from the game were to be donated to a nonprofit organization founded by Deco that promotes the social inclusion of underprivileged children through educational, sport and cultural projects.
