Messi, Neymar left off roster for Barca's U.S. tour

Barcelona will play a number of preseason matches in North America but won't have Copa America stars like Lionel Messi or Neymar on its tour roster, Luis Enrique announced Friday.

The Argentina and Brazil international, along with Messi's international teammate Javier Mascherano, Neymar's compatriot Dani Alves and Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, are not part of the 24-man squad that will contest matches against the LA Galaxy, Manchester United, Chelsea and Fiorentina in the International Champions Cup after all participating in June's Copa America.

The team still will have plenty of star power with 21 first-team members making the trip to the U.S., including Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez -- who missed the Copa America because of suspension -- Spanish veterans Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets, and Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen also is among the group after reporting early to Barcelona camp to fight for the starting job. Summer signings Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal also were named to the tour team.

The full team as announced by the club is: Ter Stegen, Masip, Jose Suarez, Pique, Rakitic, Sergio, Pedro, Iniesta, Suarez, Rafinha, Bartra, Douglas, Jordi Alba, S. Roberto, Adriano, Vermaelen, Mathieu, Arda Turan, Aleix Vidal, Sandro, Munir, Halilovic, Samper and Gumbau.
