Marseille signs forward Modou Sougou from CFR Cluj

Marseille has made its third signing of the transfer window by recruiting forward Modou Sougou from Romanian club CFR Cluj.

Marseille announced the signing on its website Thursday without giving contract details.

The 28-year-old Sougou has played 10 matches for Senegal, scoring once, and scored 10 league goals for Cluj last season. He can play on either flank and strengthens Marseille's attacking options after it sold forward Loic Remy to Queens Park Rangers last week.

Marseille coach Elie Baup described Sougou as ''an attack-minded player on the flank with a different profile to the players we already have, who likes getting on the ball and especially passing.''

Marseille has already signed midfielder Foued Kadir from Valenciennes and 18-year-old goalkeeper Brice Samba from Le Havre.
