Mario Gomez set to leave Bayern

Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez's agent says that the Germany international will be leaving the UEFA Champions League winners this summer.

The 27-year old still has three years remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena but he has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Mario Mandzukic last year.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Napoli are believed to be amongst the teams keen on Gomez and his representative, Uli Ferber, confirmed that he is set for a departure from Bayern.

"As far as I am concerned, the trend in the matter of Mario is definitely a transfer. He will be leaving Bayern Munich this summer," he told German sports magazine Kicker.

Newly-appointed Napoli coach Rafa Benitez has been linked with a bid for the striker, but Gomez's agent Uli Ferber has not held talks with other clubs as he considers his future.

"We have never been discussing a transfer with Napoli," Ferber told Stuttgarter Zeitung earlier in the week. I am going to sort out the future of Mario Gomez in the next couple of days. Actually, I feel those next three to four days could see us get a clear idea about it."

Gomez has scored 113 goals in 174 appearances with Bayern Munich since joining the Bundesliga giants in 2009. The forward's current deal runs until the summer of 2016.
