Manzano, Sevilla part ways after 5th-place finish

Gregorio Manzano parted ways with Sevilla on Wednesday after the Andalucian club failed to extend the Spanish coach's contract.

Manzano replaced Antonio Alvarez after five games and led Sevilla to a fifth-place finish and a place in next season's Europa League competition. Sevilla lost to eventual Europa League champion FC Porto this season, but eliminated German champion Borussia Dortmund from the group stage along the way.

Manzano says: ''If those results aren't enough ... I can only respect their decision and wish them the best of luck.''

Spanish reports have mentioned former Argentina and Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa as a possible replacement, with Real Sociedad also reportedly in the hunt for the Argentine coach.
