Mancini hopeful over deal for Aguero
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is hopeful a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero can be sealed this week.
City are in advanced talks with the Spanish club about a deal for the Argentina international, who is one of Mancini's main summer transfer targets.
Aguero is looking to leave the Vincente Calderon and failed to return to training over the weekend after an early end to his Copa America campaign.
Real Madrid and Juventus have been credited with an interest in Aguero but Mancini hopes City will be his choice of destination.
Speaking after City's pre-season clash with LA Galaxy, Mancini said: "I don't know at the moment. The last news that I heard about Aguero was that the club was talking with Atletico Madrid.
"I think that maybe in four or five days, before the next game, I think that in this week maybe we can close. Maybe.
"Aguero played in Copa America. If we close the deal, I need to speak with him, because I want to know his opinion (of playing in Manchester)."
