Manchester United press ahead with plans for Zlatan medical
Manchester United are reportedly making plans for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to undertake a medical in Manchester after Euro 2016 - the last remaining hurdle which must be overcome before he signs a one-year contract at Old Trafford.
Negotiations between the player's representative and the club took longer than initially expected, meaning there was not enough time for the Sweden striker to conduct his medical before the tournament began.
However, both sides are understood to be relaxed about the situation, with the deal in place and ready to be signed later this summer, upon completion of his medical tests.
Sky Sports News report there are not expected to be any problems with the medical - as long as Ibrahimovic is not injured whilst on international duty. The 34-year-old is understood to be in excellent physical condition, and the process is expected to be a formality.
Personal terms have already been agreed on a one-year contract, after negotiations between Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola and Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward took place in recent weeks.
The club and the player initially hoped to be able to conclude a deal before the European Championship began, however talks were not concluded in time for Ibrahimovic to conduct a medical in England before traveling to France with the national team.
Ibrahimovic won his 114th cap for Sweden in Monday's 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland at the Stade de France in Paris.
