Man City signs Boateng from Hamburg
Manchester City has signed Germany defender Jerome Boateng from Hamburg on a five-year deal.
Although no fee was announced by either club, reports say that the Premier League club will pay the Bundesliga side ?12.5 million ($14.95 million) for the 21-year-old who officially becomes a City player on July 1.
Boateng, who is in Germany's World Cup squad, has agreed a five-year deal. City manager Roberto Mancini said Saturday he had signed a high quality player who could play in several positions in defense.
He is the third Hamburg player to move to Man City, after Vincent Kompany and Nigel de Jong.
