Lovenkrands hails 'handful' Andy

Lovenkrands and Carroll formed a deadly partnership at St James' Park which was a big factor in securing the Championship title last season before the latter moved to Liverpool for £35million in January. Former Rangers forward Lovenkrands was full of praise for Carroll, who scored his first England goal against Ghana last month, but insisted he will not be given an easy ride against his boyhood club. "Andy will be a real handful to go up against if he plays - it will be good to see him again. But it's up to us to stop him," he told the Evening Chronicle. "He was a fantastic asset for us - he's so strong and one of the best in Europe and he has shown that again at Liverpool and with England."
