Los Che ink Alves to four-year deal
Valencia has signed Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves from Almeria on a four-year contract.
The 25-year-old Brazilian says the chance to play in the Champions League was the biggest motivation for joining Valencia, which finished third in the Spanish league last season.
Alves spent four seasons at Almeria, which finished in last place to be relegated to the second division.
Alves will face competition for the starting spot with first-choice keeper Vicente Guaita having just signed a new contract until the 2014-15 season. Miguel Angel Moya is also signed until 2013.
Valencia has released 39-year-old Cesar Sanchez, however.
