Lennon gets six-match ban
The Scottish Football Association has tripled Celtic manager Neil Lennon's two-match ban after an appeal against his sending-off during a Scottish Premier League match against Hearts was rejected.
Lennon was handed the initial sanction after being sent to the stands by referee Craig Thomson following his protest at the failure to award Celtic a penalty during the team's 2-0 loss at Tynecastle on Nov. 10.
Lennon was charged with excessive misconduct for his comments toward a fourth official, which led to his dismissal.
The SFA's disciplinary committee dismissed Lennon's appeal on
Tuesday and extended his suspension to six matches, starting on
Jan. 18.
