Leicester City Fans React To Manchester United Defeat

Leicester City slumped to their third defeat of the Premier League season with a 4-1 loss to Manchester United. Here is how some of the supporters felt about the match.

Former Fox Gary Lineker put the match and expectations for Leicester City in perspective by discussing that they should still focus on avoiding relegation.

He was also positive about the growth of young midfielder Demarai Gray

Some fans were a bit more negative about the loss and described it as embarrassing for the Foxes. They were certainly taken behind the woodshed by one of the richest clubs in world football but this was the sort of match they won last season. Others took the time to point out how poor the performance was but still gave credit to some of the players.

Despite the negativity of many of the supporters the overwhelming sentiment was that this club knows what it did last season was somewhat of a one-off. They are taking the mindset that everything done this season has to be put in the context of the magical title-winning year.

For most teams the size of Leicester City, losing 4-1 to a club like Manchester United would just be another day at the office. The primary difference of course is that these Foxes have a gold badge on their sleeves and have shown that they are capable of doing better.

Claudio Ranieri is facing one of his toughest tasks in keeping this team focused and competitive in the Premier League while also keeping them focusedon the Champions League and other cup competitions.

This is a brave new world for Leicester but they have an experienced manager in Ranieri who has been there and done that. They also have a Premier League trophy in the closet too so any wounds this year can be quickly healed by just having a look at that.
