Leicester City: Claudio Ranieri to discuss where it all fell apart
Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is to discuss with his squad where their faults lie after their disappointing start to the season.
Currently in 11th place, Leicester City have lost as many fixtures this season as they did in the entirety of their title winning season.
After an opening day defeat to Hull City, a 4 – 1 thrashing to Liverpool and now a 4 – 1 humiliation by Jose Mourinho’s Manchester Untied, work needs to be done on tighten their defence.
The foxes’ home form has been fantastic, holding Arsenal to a goalless draw, beating swansea 2 – 1 and walking over Burnley to a 3 – 0 win, however It’s on the road where the issues lie.
Conceding 8 in two away games isn’t good enough for any top flight side, let alone the reigning champions.
All of the goals Leicester City conceded this weekend were from corners, which frustrated Ranieri, who is quoted as saying:
“It is strange because last season we were so strong at corners and free-kicks and I think we conceded very few goals and on Saturday we conceded three goals, I hope never more.”
“It is strange because last season we played against the same players. Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn’t here, but we are used to playing against tall players.”
“I think it is more about concentration and determination. We just lost our concentration, our attention. I can also understand there are some very good players who are strong in the air, four or five from Manchester.”
“When you concede a goal, a smart goal from a corner, you aren’t concentrated.”

“Then that is it. We switched off our minds after the first goal. Now it is important to analyse and understand what happened in some situations. When we concede a goal, why do we switch off? That, for me, is the more important thing. Little things are more important and we have to see what happened.”
