Lampard wants future in management
Midfielder Lampard scored from the penalty spot to take his overall tally for the season to 26 as Carlo Ancelotti clinched the domestic crown in his first season in England with Sunday's 8-0 hammering of Wigan. He has a few more seasons in him as a player, but is already thinking about life in the dugout afterwards. "I quite like the idea of being a manager," said Lampard. "I've got to do my badges and that's a long process, which I am trying to get my head around at the minute. "But when I get the time and the will to do it, I will - certainly by the time I pack up playing because I'd love to be a manager. "I've been fortunate enough to work with so many good managers and I'd take a lot from certain ones, a bit from others and try to put that all together. "Obviously I'd love to do that at Chelsea but there's probably a lot of other people who would like to manage Chelsea as well, so who knows?" Chelsea romped to victory as a hat-trick from Didier Drogba, a double from Nicolas Anelka and other goals from Salomon Kalou and Ashley Cole helped the Blues finish top of the table by a single point over Manchester United. Ancelotti does not believe Chelsea's ageing squad requires major surgery after their title success put them on the brink of an historic League and FA Cup Double. Victory over relegated Portsmouth at Wembley next week will see the Blues become only the seventh team in history to win both competitions in the same season.
