Labbadia sticking with Stuttgart

Stuttgart manager Bruno Labbadia insists that he has no reason to quit the Bundesliga outfit despite growing speculation over his future.

The boss, who is out of contract at the German club at the end of the season, has seen his side slip into the relegation places after a shaky start to the campaign.

Labbadia hit out at his treatment from the local media following the recent 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, accusing them of feeding the fans "untruths".

The former Germany striker is adamant he has no intention of leaving the club despite rumours suggesting he is heading for the door.

He also pointed out several managers have voiced their support of his recent rant against the local press.

Labbadia told Deutsche Presseagentur: "What should be my reason (to quit)? I like being at VfB Stuttgart.

"There was a massive echo to my statement, it was a really positive echo. I was given a lot of support from managers and general managers, just because all of them are fighting the same problems.

"For me it has been thrilling to see how many people have given me their feedback. There was a big sort of solidarity. Especially from fellow managers."

He added: "For me this issue is history now. I have said it all.

"I now like to work hard with the squad and I am expecting to see the squad focus on the sporting aspects. This is also something I like to focus on."
