Kreilach scores, Real Salt Lake shuts down San Jose 1-0

SANDY, Utah (AP) — Damir Kreilach scored in the 75th minute and Real Salt Lake beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 on Wednesday night.

Kreilach scored on a header nine yards away from the center of the box, assisted by Brooks Lennon.

Real Salt Lake (13-11-4) outshot the Earthquakes (13-11-5) 11 to four, with six shots on goal to three for San Jose.

Real Salt Lake drew three corner kicks, committed 13 fouls and was given two yellow cards. San Jose drew three corner kicks, committed 14 fouls and was given three yellow cards.

Both teams next play Sunday. Real Salt Lake visits Vancouver and the Earthquakes visit Portland.
