Kaka making good progress after knee injury

Real Madrid says Kaka is making "satisfactory" progress following a knee injury and will soon begin training with the squad.

The Brazil playmaker has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on his left knee in August, having played through the World Cup in pain.

Madrid says Kaka will soon begin a specific on-field training program "with the idea of being incorporated into the team." The club had originally hoped he would play again in December.

Kaka's rehabilitation also included work to improve a nagging groin injury, which kept the 28-year-old out of action for lengthy periods last season.

Madrid will welcome Kaka's return following Monday's 5-0 thrashing by Barcelona.
