Jordan Ayew back in contention for Ghana
The Ghana Football Association says Marseille striker Jordan Ayew has ended his brief international retirement and is available again for the national team.
Ayew's return comes a day after AC Milan's Kevin-Prince Boateng asked to be considered again for Ghana.
The GFA said Ayew sent a letter to the association on Friday confirming his availability. He gave up international football in February after being left out of Ghana's squad for this year's African Cup of Nations.
Boateng made himself unavailable for Ghana in 2011, but with the World Cup under a year away players are now looking ahead at a place at the showpiece tournament in Brazil.
Ghana needs a draw at home with Zambia on Sept. 6 to make the final playoffs in Africa's World Cup qualifiers.
