Jamie Vardy's pre-match diet involves drinking wine and chugging Red Bull

Jamie Vardy may be the exact opposite of the typical modern athlete. He doesn't lift weights, he chews tobacco, and his diet resembles that of a middle-aged bachelor.

In his brand new autobiography, being serialized by The Sun, Jamie Vardy already revealed how his love of Skittles-flavored vodka was affecting his recovery from injury, and now he's come clean on his pre-match diet. And, of course, in keeping with his previous revelations, it involves alcohol, and it's RIDICULOUS.

Half a bottle of sweet red wine doesn't seem like an ideal pre-match drink, but it clearly seemed to work for Vardy last year, helping Leicester to the league title, and only finishing runner-up on the scoring charts to Harry Kane. His strange nutrition habits don't stop there though, because now we know how Jamie Vardy never stops running. His secret? Three Red Bulls and a double espresso before the match.

Three Red Bulls and a double espresso is roughly enough caffeine to power 11 Jamie Vardys for three matches straight, so it makes perfect sense why his legs don't stop churning until the final whistle, day in day out. All that before a game? It's a miracle his heart doesn't just burst as he's running onto a through ball.
