Inter not ruling out Maicon exit

Maicon's future at Inter has been the subject of speculation for some time with the full-back being courted by a host of clubs.

Two of his former Inter managers Roberto Mancini and Jose Mourinho have both been linked with moves to bring the Brazilian to Manchester City and Real Madrid respectively.

Reports in Spain have suggested Real Madrid are planning a beat-the-deadline move for Maicon with Mourinho keen to be reunited with the South American.

Stramaccioni has refused to rule out a late departure for Maicon admitting they have enough cover for him at right-back, but that he would also be happy to see the defender remain at the San Siro.

"As for Maicon, the situation was already clear from the start," said Stramaccioni. "We won't be caught unprepared, as we have Javier Zanetti and Jonathan.

"Obviously Maicon has unique characteristics and we'll see what happens up to the transfer window. If he stays, we will all be happy."
