Inter Milan star Kovacic quashes Liverpool speculation
Mateo Kovacic has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, with the midfielder saying his relationship with Inter "will be a long one".
Having already made six signings this season, Brendan Rodgers is thought to want to add further to his squad, with Croatian midfielder Kovacic reportedly a long-term target.
With Raheem Sterling's £49million sale to Manchester City, attention now turns to how the club spend their cash injection, with the Daily Express claiming last month that Inter would demand £21m for Kovacic.
Nerazzurri boss Roberto Mancini denied reports concerning the sale of his star midfielder last month, although Kovacic himself admitted "you never know with the transfer market".
The 21-year-old has now revised his stance, pledging his long-term allegiance to the Serie A side.
"I want to stay here. I will not move," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "The relationship between Inter and me will be a long one.
"Whether there have been offers from the Reds is not for me to say but eventually my agent will. Having said that, I repeat: I want to stay here.
"I want to show that I deserve to be at Inter, I want to win with this shirt.
"Inter are like Real Madrid or Barcelona.
"The club have never told me they want to sell me."
