Inter Milan goalkeeper Toldo retires
Inter Milan goalkeeper Francesco Toldo is retiring from football and will begin working for the club in an ambassadorial capacity.
Toldo played 147 times for Inter after joining from Fiorentina in 2001, and was on the bench when the team won the Champions League in May.
Toldo said on Wednesday: ``This season will be long because I am stopping playing. It is the first time that I've announced it and I feel quite emotional.''
The 38-year-old Toldo won 28 caps for Italy and was first choice for the team that finished second at the 2000 European Championship.
In the semifinal against the Netherlands he saved three penalties to help Italy to the final. He also won the 1994 European Under-21 Championship.
