Honduras tops Guatemala in exhibition match

Roger Rojas and Georgie Welcome scored to give Honduras a 2-0 victory over Guatemala in an exhibition Tuesday night.

Rojas put Honduras ahead in the 21st minute. Jerry Bengston fired a 20-yard line drive that Guatemala goalkeeper Ricardo Trigueno punched away but an unmarked Rojas secured the rebound and scored from eight yards.

Welcome finished the scoring in the 81st minute by converting Edgar Alvarez's right-wing cross from 11 yards. Welcome celebrated by executing a triple somersault.

Guatemala midfielder Erwin Aguilar left the field on a stretcher in the 14th minute. Carlos Castillo replaced Aguilar.
