Holloway warning to Pool players
The Seasiders kick off their top flight campaign against Wigan next month following their promotion via the Championship play-offs. And Holloway wants his team to be able retain possession during the season, which he believes requires increased levels of fitness. The Blackpool squad have been told to keep their training regimes ticking over the summer and the boss hopes it will put them in good stead as the start nears ever closer. Holloway said in The Sun: "I've been watching the best teams in the World Cup and it's all about the ball, you have to keep it. "To do that I want them fully fit and they are going to have to raise their fitness levels from what they were last season. "They will have to eat better and we'll be going into their diet and looking at nutrition a lot more. "They are working themselves over the summer to make sure they come back fit. "We've given each individual these monitors and told them what heart rate they need to maintain. It means they should return in good nick."
