Hodgson hails second-half show

The Baggies fell behind in a lacklustre encounter at The Hawthorns, with Nicola Sansone handing the Italians a half-time lead with his finish on 43 minutes. West Brom were stronger in the second, though, and finally got their equaliser two minutes into injury-time thanks to Somen Tchoyi. But Hodgson was less than inspired by the whole affair, despite declaring himself pleased with the result. "It was one of those typical games a week before the start of the season," Hodgson told Sky Sports News. "In the first half they had two shots at goal, one of which went in, and I think we only had three or four. The game was being played with people passing the ball about at the back. "But in the second half I thought we did a lot better. There was nothing for our goalkeeper to do at all, but it took us a long while to get the goal. "But I'm pleased we got it in the end because it would have been harsh to have lost the game." West Brom kick-off their Premier League season next Sunday, hosting defending champions Manchester United at The Hawthorns.
