Hill happy with Tudgay debut

Barnsley manager Keith Hill was delighted with Marcus Tudgay's contribution on his debut for the club in the weekend draw at Bolton.

The Tykes have struggled for goals in recent weeks in the absence of leading scorer Craig Davies, forcing Hill into the loan market last week to draft in Nottingham Forest forward Tudgay for an initial month.

Tudgay has recently recovered from a double hernia operation and his first appearance since the end of August on Saturday coincided with the return of Davies, who had missed Barnsley's previous five matches due to a hamstring injury.

"Recruitment is key," said Hill after his side gained their first point in five games in the 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadium.

"In Marcus Tudgay we have an elite Championship player. It was superb from him to play 90 minutes after being out for so long. It was a nice little combination for the goal."
