Higuain will not leave Napoli for less than $106 million clause

Napoli have told interested clubs they will have to splash out $106million to sign striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain netted 18 goals in Serie A last season and Napoli have now released a statement explaining that any club wanting to buy Higuain will have to meet his €94.7m ($106m) buy-out clause.

"Napoli are keen to clarify certain articles, published in some newspapers, about the departure of Higuain," a statement by the club read.

"The official clarification from Napoli is the following: there is a clause in Gonzalo Higuain's contract. The clause is €94.7 million.

"There have been no bids. Anyone who wants the player will have to pay the club that amount."
