Henry to meet France president after WC debacle

France's presidential palace says Thierry Henry will meet with President Nicolas Sarkozy to discuss the national team's World Cup debacle.

Spokesman Franck Louvrier says that France's all-time leading scorer and former captain asked Sarkozy for the meeting, which will take place Thursday.

France was eliminated from the first round of the World Cup on Tuesday after the team went on strike, failed to win a match and had striker Nicolas Anelka expelled for insulting the coach.

Government spokesman Luc Chatel says Sarkozy is also holding a work meeting with ministers on Wednesday on how to reform French football.
