Harewood offered County deal
The 31-year-old, a free agent after his release from Bloomfield Road, met with County boss Martin Allen on Thursday and was offered a two-year contract. "I can confirm, after the non-stop rumours, that I met Marlon Harewood with the chairman at Meadow Lane for a couple of hours" Allen told the County site. "We've offered a two-year deal. I know he has a lot of options and several at Championship level, but if you don't ask, you don't get." Harewood hit 14 Premier League goals for West Ham in 2006 and also picked up an FA Cup runners-up medal, but his career nosedived after a £4million move to Aston Villa. He would feel at home at Meadow Lane, though, having begun his career just across the River Trent at Nottingham Forest.
