Hannover signs veteran goalkeeper Gospodarek

Hannover has signed veteran goalkeeper Uwe Gospodarek as a backup until the end of the season.

The 36-year-old Gospodarek was brought in Sunday to help fill a gap created by the suicide in November of German international Robert Enke.

Hannover has lacked an experienced backup for Florian Fromlowitz, now the first-choice 'keeper.

Gospodarek has played for Bayern Munich and Borussia Moenchengladbach. Most recently, he was the goalkeeping coach at third-division club Wacker Burghausen.
