Hannover, Mainz fined for fans' fireworks
The German football federation has fined three clubs after their fans lit firecrackers during separate Bundesliga games.
The DFB said Friday it fined Hannover ?6,000 ($8,420) after its fans set off firecrackers and smoke bombs during their side's games at Augsburg on Sept. 29 and at home to Werder Bremen on Oct. 2.
Mainz was fined ?5,000 ($7,020) after its fans lit smoke bombs before and during the derby at Kaiserslautern on Sept. 17.
Second division side Karlsruher SC was also fined ?5,000 ($7,020) after fans lit fireworks before its home game against St. Pauli on Sept. 19.
All three clubs agreed to pay the fines.
