Handanovic's agent rules out United move, close to new Inter contract

Samir Handanovic's agent insists the goalkeeper has not spoken to Manchester United and is close to agreeing a new contract at Inter Milan.

The Inter player has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as a potential replacement for David de Gea, who is expected to join Real Madrid this summer.

Handanovic's representative Federico Pastorello, however, insists there has been no contact with the Premier League club, with the Slovenia No.1 in advanced talks to extend his contract at Inter.

"These are only rumors and media speculation," Pastorello told reporters. "Nothing is true with regard to the Red Devils, I've never talked to them.

"I can rule out then, Samir going to Old Trafford, though of course the transfer market is unpredictable.

"Obviously interest from other clubs gives us pleasure, but Samir wants to win with Inter. Negotiations continue, and the final OK is close.

"Maybe a 90 percent chance [of signing a new contract] is a little high, but the chances are very high.

"Of course, everyone wants to play in the Champions League, that's normal. Samir wants to achieve that goal with Inter though, even if the last few seasons have not been particularly happy.

"If Samir reaches the agreement, he could end his career at Inter."
