Greece probes match-fixing claims made by UEFA
Greece's top sports official says 13 clubs will be investigated for match fixing allegations raised by European football's governing body UEFA.
The government's general secretary for sport, Panos Bitsaxis, says 15 games played this year are under scrutiny, involving four first-division clubs and nine from lower divisions.
None of the clubs were named.
Bitsaxis said Friday that the UEFA allegations were forwarded Thursday to a government fraud agency and a public prosecutor who will launch a preliminary inquiry.
A separate fraud-agency investigation is already under way in crisis-hit Greece into alleged tax evasion by professional football clubs and players.
