Granada fires coach Fabricio Gonzalez

Granada has fired coach Fabricio Gonzalez after the three straight loss left the promoted topflight club only one point above the relegation zone at the midway point in the Spanish league season.

The 56-year-old Spaniard had led Granada to back-to-back promotions, taking the modest club from the third division to its first appearance in Spain's top flight in 35 years.

Granada, however, lost 3-0 to Espanyol on Saturday and the team has the league's worst attack with just 12 goals from 19 games.
