Godoy Cruz denies Newell's Old Boys

Newell's Old Boys failed to hold on to a late lead and drew 1-1 at Godoy Cruz on Sunday, but still tops the Argentine league by one point over Velez Sarsfield.

Newell's Old Boys took a 1-0 lead through Ignacio Scocco's goal in the 10th minute, but Mauro Obolo equalized for the hosts in the 79th. It was only the sixth goal Newell's has conceded in 13 unbeaten games of the opening championship.
