Gera hopeful over knee knock

The Cottagers star tweaked knee ligaments in training, becoming the latest in a long line of Cottagers stars to be laid low. He has already undergone a scan in an effort to determine the severity of the problem, and is hoping the results come back positive. While Roy Hodgson will continue to be hampered by a lengthy list of casualties over the next few weeks, he will welcome the news that Gera expects to be back in action inside a fortnight. The 30-year-old admits he will be forced to sit out upcoming games against Portsmouth and Bolton, but is optimistic regarding his chances of making a speedy recovery. "After I felt the knee go, I ended training immediately and returned to the dressing rooms, because I felt there might be a problem," Gera told Pepsifoci. "I have injured the ligament before and today I didn't feel as though the pain was as bad as last time. "I hope it is only a strain, but the MRI scan will show what the full problem is. "I think I will be out for the next two games. I am very disappointed as I think I have been in good form recently."
