Ganso wants to leave Santos for Europe

Santos says playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso wants to leave the club to play in Europe.

President Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro says Ganso has come forward with his desire to play abroad and the club will be open for offers.

There is a $70 million buyout clause in Ganso's contract, and he says Santos will renew his current deal only if that amount is significantly reduced.

Ribeiro says Santos will not change the contractual buyout clause, but has promised to ''analyze offers'' and hinted the club may accept a transfer for less than the $70 million.

The 21-year-old midfielder is one of the most promising stars in Brazilian football, along with teammate Neymar.

Ganso is returning to action after undergoing knee surgery last year.
