Fulham snubs Monterrey's bid for Salcido

Fulham boss Mark Hughes has rejected a bid from Mexican club Monterrey to bring defender Carlos Salcido back to his homeland.

The 31-year-old full-back is reportedly struggling to settle in London having signed from PSV in a £1.6m deal at the start of last season - but Hughes wants to keep the Mexico international.

Monterrey released a statement saying: "We inform you that we have received a response from Fulham Football Club of England, declining our offer to sign Carlos Salcido."

Monterrey rivals Chivas and Pachuca are also thought to be preparing offers to take Salcido home.
