Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro's case to go to full tribunal hearing
Former Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro, who left the club after a row with Jose Mourinho, has left an employment tribunal where she has brought a case for constructive dismissal case against the club.
Dr Carneiro attended the court in Croydon accompanied by her husband Jason De Carteret and her legal team.
The 42-year-old was dropped from first-team duties by Mourinho, who criticized her and physio Jon Fearn for treating midfielder Eden Hazard after they were waved on to the pitch by the referee on the opening day of the season.
The decision - which Mourinho later referred to as "impulsive and naive" - meant Chelsea were temporarily left with nine men in their match against Swansea.
Dr Carneiro did not appear on the bench again for first-team duties and later left the club.
The current hearing will fix the timetable for the case, and deal with witness statements and disclosure of documents - including texts and emails - as well as any legal procedural disputes between both parties.
No settlement has been reached and a date for a full hearing - not revealed - has been fixed, lawyer Mary O'Rourke revealed.
Chelsea filed their defense last month.
Dr Carneiro is also bringing a separate personal legal action against Mourinho for alleged victimization and discrimination.
The former Chelsea coach was earlier cleared by the Football Association of using discriminatory language towards the doctor.
However, Dr Carneiro and the FA's independent board member, Heather Rabbatts, later criticised the FA for not interviewing the doctor during its investigation.
Dr Carneiro has also received support from FIFA's medical chairman, Michel D'Hooghe, who said she was simply doing her job.
Mourinho himself left Chelsea in December after a run of poor results.
