Former Brazil assistant Jorginho to coach Goias

Former Brazil assistant Jorginho is the new coach of Goias, the last-place team in the Brazilian league.

Jorginho replaces Emerson Leao, who was fired last week after a series of poor results.

Jorginho worked with then Brazil coach Dunga at the 2010 World Cup. The team was eliminated by the Netherlands in the quarterfinals. The 46-year-old Jorginho has also coached Rio de Janeiro's America.

A former right back, Jorginho was Dunga's teammate when Brazil won the 1994 World Cup in the United States.

Goias dropped to last in the 20-team Brazilian league after losing three straight matches. It has 13 points from 17 matches.
