FIFA offers live match tests for goal-line tech

FIFA has announced plans to test goal-line technology in live matches.

Soccer's governing body says the GoalRef system will be used either in two matches in Denmark's top league or in one league match and an international exhibition.

The other system being considered by the International Football Association Board, the game's rule-making body, is Hawk-Eye. That will be used in England's May 16 Hampshire FA Senior Cup Final, a competition generally for amateur clubs.

IFAB is set to make a final decision on whether to allow the use of goal-line technology at a meeting on July 2.

There also will be a series of lab and training ground tests on the systems, which should help officials decide whether the ball has crossed the goal line.
