FIFA: guaranteed British committee seat should end

FIFA wants British football to lose its guaranteed seat as a vice president on the ruling executive committee.

FIFA says ''the privilege of the four British associations to elect a vice president shall be removed.''

The seat on the 25-member executive committee will instead go to UEFA. European football's governing body, however, has indicated it would support giving that position to a member from England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

FIFA is also proposing that the executive committee be extended to 27 members and feature three women. The first female member is due to be elected at the FIFA Congress in May.
